Klamath, CA (July 26, 2020) – At least one person sustained critical injuries during a car accident on Highway 101 on Saturday, July 25th.
An incident report from the California Highway Patrol indicates that police were notified of the two-vehicle collision at about 9:35 p.m.
Upon arrival, they discovered that, for reasons that have yet to be determined, a sedan and a van collided with one another in the southbound lanes of Highway 101 at Last Chance Grade, a 3-mile stretch of highway that has been plagued by road failures and landslides for decades.
Fire and rescue squads and emergency medical personnel both reported to the crash site and provided vital medical aid to one victim who had endured critical injuries during the accident.
The injured party was then transported via ambulance to a local medical facility for emergency care.
Police officers shut down the southbound lanes and a section of the northbound lanes of Highway 101 as they worked to determine cause and liability for the collision.
