La Plata, MD (April 3, 2023) – The Maryland State Police confirmed that 30-year-old Claude Boushey Jr. has died as a result of an auto accident that occurred in Charles County on Sunday evening, April 2.
Reports from MSP show that just before 5:15 p.m., a 2013 Dodge Challenger and a Honda Accord collided head-on on the eastbound side of Hawthorne Road, just east of Bibury Lane. The impact of the crash caused both vehicles to come to rest, blocking the westbound lanes. The incident blocked multiple lanes of travel, prompting the police to shut down the roadway with the assistance of firefighters.
Emergency Medical Services responded to care for the injured victims. Boushey, who was the sole occupant of the Honda, was transported to the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center, where he passed away from his injuries.
The driver of the Dodge, 42-year-old Donta McKay, was transported to MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C. by Maryland State Police helicopter for emergency care.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
We hope Donta McKay recovers quickly following this accident. Our thoughts are with them at this time.
We offer our condolences to the family of Claude Boushey Jr.
