Lake City, FL (July 24, 2023)- A Saturday, July 22, 2023, accident claimed the lives of two locals and injured three others in Lake City.
At 5:05 p.m. on I-75 southbound near mile marker 432, a 28-year-old Lake City woman lost control of her sedan, according to FHP
A 30-year-old woman from Quincy, Florida, was driving a northbound SUV when the sedan crossed the median and crashed into her vehicle.
The driver of a second SUV, a 54-year-old man from Lake City, collided with the first SUV after the initial collision.
The driver of the sedan and a young girl, aged 6, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The two other Lake City passengers in critical condition were a girl aged four and a boy aged 3.
The Quincy driver was slightly hurt, while the 41-year-old female driver and 10-year-old female passenger of the other SUV were unharmed.
