Lake Vermilion, MN (September 18, 2023) – On Saturday night, September 16, 2023, a boat crash occurred on Rainbow Island in Daisy Bay on Lake Vermilion, leading to two individuals being hospitalized.

Deputies from the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office promptly responded to a report of the incident after 9:00 p.m.

Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered that a pontoon boat had collided with the island, ejecting a woman onto the island.

She was subsequently transported to the hospital with injuries.

The boat’s driver was also hospitalized for precautionary measures.

Both victims, hailing from the Twin Cities metro area, were vacationing in the region. 

The investigation is still ongoing.
