Lakeland, FL (July 18, 2023) – At around 9:12 p.m. on Sunday, July 16, 2023, police were called to the 4300 block of Williamstown Blvd in response to a crash involving a pedestrian.
They found a man hit by a 2016 Nissan pickup truck at the scene.
The Lakeland Police Department, Polk County Fire Rescue, and the Lakeland Fire Department all offered aid at the scene.
Unfortunately, the 62-year-old male pedestrian was declared dead at the scene.
From what we can tell, the pedestrian was struck while making a westbound crosswalk crossing of Williamstown Blvd.
Kenneth Spencer Hudson, the pickup’s driver, was heading west when the collision occurred.
He stopped immediately and remained at the scene.
