Motorcycle Accidents in Indiana
Motorcycle accidents often result in serious or fatal injuries due to the lack of protective barriers compared to passenger vehicles. Collisions involving left-turning vehicles, like the one on U.S. 35, are among the most common causes of motorcycle fatalities.
According to the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute (ICJI), nearly 40% of motorcycle crashes involving another vehicle occur when a driver fails to yield while making a left turn. Factors such as distracted driving, failure to check blind spots, and misjudging motorcycle speeds contribute to these tragic incidents.
Motorcyclists have the same rights to the road as other vehicles, and drivers must always remain vigilant, especially when turning across lanes of oncoming traffic.
Victims of motorcycle crashes and their families may be eligible for compensation for medical bills, lost wages, and other damages. If you have been affected by a motorcycle accident, seeking legal guidance can help you understand your rights and options.
