LaSalle, IL – Fatal Two-Vehicle Wreck at 31st & 12th Rds Under Investigation

LaSalle, IL (July 28, 2023) – At least one person was killed in a two-vehicle wreck that occurred in LaSalle County on Friday, July 28.

The intersection of North 31st Road and East 12th Road in Waltham Township was shut down as a result of the incident.

The deceased was the driver of a 2015 GMC Acadia that was traveling east on North 31st when it came to a stop at the intersection, according to a preliminary inquiry launched by the LaSalle County Sheriff’s Department. A semi-truck, a 2009 Freightliner, was driving east on 12th Road when it collided with the SUV shortly thereafter.

The LaSalle County Coroner’s Office and Illinois State Police Traffic Reconstruction Unit are working with LaSalle deputies on the investigation. No citations or charges have been filed in connection with the crash.
