Leonardtown, MD – Serious Collision on Point Lookout Rd near Pin Cushion Rd

Leonardtown, MD (July 3, 2023) – A serious accident was reported in the Leonardtown area that resulted in injuries.

At around 3:45 a.m. on July 2, a St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Deputy was investigating an automobile accident on Point Lookout Road near Pin Cushion Road.

While at the scene, a southbound vehicle crashed into the side of the marked cruiser. The impact of the crash caused the vehicle to overturn, trapping the driver.

Firefighters responded to the scene to extricate the victim. One person was transported to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital for emergency care.

At this time, the incident is being investigated.
