Lewiston, ID (September 18, 2023) – A tragic motorcycle accident claimed the life of a Lewiston woman on Sunday, September 17, 2023.

Alyssa Slusher, 24, was a passenger on a motorcycle that struck a parked car near 14th Street and 14th Avenue around 1:20 p.m.

The motorcycle, driven by James Weese, 25, of Orofino, veered out of control, hitting the parked vehicle. Both riders were ejected.

Emergency personnel transported both victims to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.

Sadly, Slusher passed away while Weese was airlifted to a Spokane hospital.

Despite wearing helmets, the impact proved fatal for Slusher.

Authorities closed parts of 14th Street for over three hours for investigation.

The investigation is still ongoing.
