Lexington, KY (March 13, 2025) – One person was killed, and two others were injured following a three-vehicle crash on Tuesday afternoon in Lexington. The accident occurred around 4:45 p.m. in front of 3836 Tates Creek Rd, according to the Lexington Police Department and the Fayette County Coroner’s Office.
Lexington police Lt. Steven Wiggins confirmed that 24-year-old Cary “Danielle” Griffing, of Lexington, was pronounced dead at the scene. The coroner’s office reported that she suffered fatal blunt trauma injuries to the head and torso. Her death has been ruled an accident.
Two other individuals sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their identities have not been released.
Authorities closed the roadway for several hours while the collision reconstruction unit investigated the scene. The cause of the crash remains under review.
