Lincoln Park, IL (September 18, 2023) – A pedestrian was injured during a carjacking pursuit on Sunday, September 17, 2023.

Illinois State Police responded around 11:15 p.m. to a chase involving a silver Toyota, reported stolen at 7 p.m.

Troopers had earlier tried stopping the car, leading to a pursuit.

Stop sticks deployed near Chicago Avenue and Pulaski Road flattened a tire.

A trooper executed a PIT maneuver, causing the Toyota to veer off near the 2300 block of North Halsted Street.

Attempting to avoid the car, a pedestrian jumped onto a fence, which the Toyota then hit.

The pedestrian received injuries and was treated at a hospital.

The investigation is still ongoing.
