Liverpool, NY (August 29, 2020) – Around 12:26 a.m. this morning, a woman was killed in a motorcycle accident on a highway in Liverpool.
The accident took place in the northbound lanes of I-81 around the area of Court Street, according to officials. When officers arrived at the scene, they found that a motorcycle crashed due to an accident with a passenger vehicle. They found a woman, identified as 25-year-old Maida Brkanovic, laying in the southbound lane of traffic. She was tragically pronounced dead at the scene of the collision.
Police did not confirm the circumstances that led up to the collision but have said that the accident involved a forceful collision between both vehicles. The driver of the motorcycle, 33-year-old Keith Leader, was found also on the roadway as a result of the accident. He was rushed to the hospital and is expected to survive.
