Livingston, MO (July 12, 2023) – An accident occurred around 3:30 p.m. on Monday, July 10, 2023, in Livingston County, resulting in one person sustaining injuries.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Darwin G. Nieman, a 74-year-old resident of Chillicothe, was driving a 2022 Polaris Ranger 1000 XP heading west on LIV 320.
Meanwhile, Sherman W. Shields, a 62-year-old from Hale, was operating a 2022 Chevy 3500 traveling south on LIV 369, approximately two miles southeast of Avalon.
The collision occurred at an uncontrolled intersection when the front of the UTV struck the left rear of the pickup.
Nieman, who was not wearing a helmet, was airlifted by Life Flight to Truman Medical Center for medical treatment.
Fortunately, Shields remained uninjured as he was properly restrained, as confirmed by the MSHP.
The case is still under investigation.
