Long Island, NY (March 4, 2023) – Saturday, March 4, a multi-vehicle collision closed a highway in Long Island and took one man’s life, according to police.
At approximately 4:30 a.m., Sunrise Highway was closed after a crash involving seven vehicles. The road was blocked between Broadway and Lincoln Boulevard in Holbrook.
Police officers found several damaged vehicles and injured drivers at the crash scene. Three or more injured parties were treated by paramedics and transported to local hospitals.
Two other drivers were not injured, however, the seventh driver, who was driving a 2012 Mazda, fled the scene on foot. Authorities continue to search for the driver.
No passengers were present in any of the vehicles at the time of the accident. Police continue to investigate the details of the accident.
