Long Island, NY (Monday, September 18, 2023) – Tragedy struck on Sunday night near a Long Island highway as a car accident resulted in one fatality and critical injuries for another individual.

According to police reports, the incident occurred around 10:35 p.m. when a 24-year-old man, driving a Mini Cooper southbound on Peninsula Boulevard, lost control of the vehicle, ultimately colliding with a tree.

Regrettably, the passenger, a man in his 20s, did not survive the impact and was pronounced dead at the crash site.

The driver sustained severe injuries and was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

At this time, there is no additional information available regarding the accident.

The investigation is currently underway to determine the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
