Rollover Crashes and Injury Risks on South Carolina Roads
Rollover crashes, such as the one that occurred on Hwy 90, are among the most dangerous types of vehicle accidents due to their unpredictable nature and high likelihood of causing injuries. These incidents often stem from excessive speed, sudden steering maneuvers, or collisions that disrupt a vehicle’s balance, especially in rural or two-lane roads where shoulder space may be limited.
South Carolina highways that connect smaller towns and rural areas are frequently the sites of such accidents. The stretch near Bombing Range Rd has been noted for its limited lighting and occasional visibility challenges, increasing the risk during nighttime hours.
Injured victims from rollover crashes may suffer from head trauma, spinal injuries, or internal complications, all of which can require extended treatment and recovery. Legal and insurance proceedings may also become complex if multiple parties are involved or if vehicle malfunctions are suspected.
To reduce rollover risks, drivers are encouraged to maintain safe speeds, avoid distracted driving, and ensure that their vehicles are equipped with proper safety systems, such as rollover sensors or traction control.
