Los Angeles, CA (July 15, 2023) – On Friday, July 14, 2023, Los Angeles police asked for help finding a hit-and-run motorist who killed an 85-year-old man and injured his adult grandson.
The incident occurred in the 4200 block of Santa Rosalia Drive around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Paramedics quickly responded and rushed both men to a nearby hospital.
Sadly, the elderly man succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
His identity is being withheld pending family notification.
However, the younger man is in stable condition.
The Los Angeles Police Department released a statement stating that the driver was operating a dark-coloured vehicle and was travelling eastbound on Santa Rosalia Drive at high speed when the accident occurred.
The driver struck the pedestrians as they were attempting to cross the street.
The LAPD is actively investigating the case to bring the responsible driver to justice.
