Louisville, KY (March 13, 2025) – Two people were injured after a Pleasure Ridge Park ambulance collided with a car on Interstate 265 late Wednesday morning. The crash occurred in the southbound lanes of the Gene Snyder Freeway near the New Cut Rd exit around 11:30 a.m., prompting a response from emergency crews.
According to Louisville Metro Police (LMPD) spokesperson Aaron Ellis, the ambulance was traveling in the fast lane when, for an unknown reason, it drifted into the right lane and struck a nearby car. The impact forced the car off the roadway, causing it to roll over multiple times before coming to a stop along the shoulder.
Both the driver of the car and the ambulance operator sustained injuries and were transported to local hospitals. Officials confirmed that the injuries were not life-threatening.
Investigators are currently reviewing the details of the crash to determine the cause. No further information has been released at this time.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims, and we wish them a full recovery.
Rollover Accidents in Kentucky
Rollover crashes are among the most severe types of accidents, often leading to serious injuries due to the violent motion and risk of ejection. Factors such as vehicle speed, impact angle, and roadway conditions can contribute to these incidents.
In Kentucky, accident victims may have the right to seek compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, and other damages following a crash. Determining liability in cases involving emergency vehicles can be complex, as investigators assess whether all safety protocols were followed.
Drivers are encouraged to remain alert on high-speed roadways like I-265 and maintain awareness of surrounding traffic to help prevent accidents.
