Lynchburg, VA (May 14, 2023) – A bicyclist died as a result of a crash that took place on Thursday in the Lynchburg area.
At approximately 3:10 p.m., the police and firefighters were called to the scene of a crash that took place on English Tavern Road.
Reports from the Lyn-Dan Heights Volunteer Fire Department show that a bicyclist was struck by a vehicle on the roadway during the afternoon hours.
The bicyclist, identified as Josiah Fowler, was severely injured in the crash.
Fowler was airlifted to an area trauma center for emergency care. Authorities confirm that he passed away after arriving.
At this time, the incident is being investigated.
