Macon, GA (September 18, 2023) – A devastating accident occurred on Broadway near Guy Paine Road just before midday on Monday.

A 28-year-old woman from Warner Robins was driving a Honda Accord north on Broadway when a logging truck turned onto Guy Paine Road, hitting her car. 

The impact forced the Honda off the road, where it struck a tree and a parked Bibb Sheriff’s Office vehicle.

The logging truck fled the scene.

The Honda’s driver is now in critical condition at Atrium Health Navicent. 

A newborn in the car is stable. 

No other injuries were reported.

The investigation is still ongoing.
