Madison, MS (May 13, 2025) – A tragic house fire claimed the life of an elderly woman in Madison, Mississippi, on Tuesday morning, May 13. The Madison Fire Department received a 911 call at approximately 10:22 AM reporting a house fully engulfed in flames on Spring Hill Drive.
Firefighters quickly arrived on the scene and began rescue efforts to locate the woman still inside the burning house. Despite their best efforts, the woman was pronounced deceased after being transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC). Due to the sensitive nature of the situation, her identity has not been released as authorities await notification of next of kin.
An adult male was found outside the home when emergency responders arrived. He was treated at the scene for minor injuries and then transported to UMMC. He is expected to make a full recovery.
