Madrid, NY (September 18, 2023) – A motorcycle crash on State Route 310 in the Town of Madrid hospitalized four people on Saturday, September 16, 2023.

Benjamin Walkenhorst, 18, from Heuvelton, rode his motorcycle behind Dennis Mitchell, 62, from Massena.

Walkenhorst didn’t notice Mitchell slowing down for a stopping vehicle and hit him from behind.

Both men, along with their passengers, Cheyanne L. Brossoit, 20, and Shannon L. Merriman, 39, were thrown from their motorcycles.

Ambulances rushed all four to Canton-Potsdam Hospital with non-critical injuries.

The investigation is still ongoing.
