Manhattan, NY – Fatal Pedestrian Crash Reported on E 60th StRick updating

Manhattan, NY (July 13, 2023) – A crash reported on the Upper East Side of Manhattan claimed one man’s life, according to local news sources.

At around 4:00 p.m. on July 12, the New York Police Department and firefighters were called to the scene of a crash on East 60th Street.

According to officials, a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck collided with Volkswagen Jetta in the 100 block of the roadway. The man in the pickup truck exited his vehicle and was subsequently struck by a car.

The pedestrian, identified as 54-year-old Roberto Velez Alvarez, suffered fatal injuries. He was pronounced deceased after being transported to a local hospital.

The driver of the Volkswagen is currently facing charges due to this incident.

At this time, the crash is being investigated.
