Manhattan, NY (May 13, 2023) – the New York State Atty. Gen. confirmed that 31-year-old José Matos lost his life as a result of an automobile accident that took place in Manhattan on Wednesday evening, May 10.
Reports provided by the police show that a Honda and a tractor-trailer collided on Drake Street at the intersection of Randall Avenue in the Clason Point neighborhood.
A passenger in the Honda, identified as Matos, was severely injured. He was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center, where he later passed away from his injuries.
The second passenger in the Honda, a 29-year-old man, suffered critical injuries. He was rushed to Lincoln Hospital for emergency treatment.
The driver of the Honda fled the scene of the crash.
At this time, the incident is being investigated by the New York Police Department.
