Manhattan, NY (March 7, 2023) – At approximately 7:48 a.m. on Tuesday morning, March 7th, a person was reportedly struck by a vehicle on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. The auto-pedestrian collision was reported at the intersection of East Houston Street and Baruch Drive.
Local law enforcement officials say that an unidentified person was traveling on foot through the junction when for reasons that have not been established, they were struck by a vehicle that entered the area. Emergency crews were notified of the collision via 911 dispatchers, who sent them to the scene to assist within moments of the incident.
EMS workers helped the victim at the scene before transporting them to a nearby Medical Center to undergo additional evaluation and treatment. The patient is in an unspecified condition at this time.
No further details concerning the driver of the vehicle or the victim have been reported. Authorities are investigating the circumstances that led to the collision.
