Manhattan, NY – Seven Injured in East Harlem Fire

Manhattan, NY (October 24, 2020) – Seven people, two of whom are officers with the New York Police Department, sustained injuries during an apartment fire on Saturday, October 24th in East Harlem.

According to officials from the New York City Fire Department, a phone call notifying them of an apartment fire along 5th Avenue came in at about 5:25 p.m. The blaze had been seen on the second floor of a six-story apartment building. 

All seven injured parties were transported to a local medical facility where they were treated for various degrees of injuries related to fire and smoke inhalation. Firefighters had the flames under control shortly after 6;15 p.m. 

The cause of the fire has not yet been reported.
