Manhattan, NY – Vehicle Collision with Entrapment Reported on 138th St near 5th Ave

Manhattan, NY (July 13, 2023) – At least one person was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated following a crash that took place in Harlem on Wednesday evening.

At around 4:00 p.m. on July 12, the New York Police Department was called to the scene of an accident on West 138th Street.

A collision between vehicles took place on the roadway in the area near 5th Avenue. A woman became trapped inside her vehicle after it started smoking.

Firefighters responded to the scene and extricated the woman. The woman was rendered aid at the scene. Medics treated injured an unknown number of addiction victims and transported those who required further care to local hospitals.

The accident is being investigated.
