Marion County, FL (September 13, 2023) – A tragic accident claimed the life of a 65-year-old Ocala woman on Tuesday, September 12, 2023.

The Florida Highway Patrol reported the crash around 11:50 a.m. near SW 79 Terrace Road and SW 87 Loop in the Indigo East subdivision.

Driving east on SW 87 Loop, the woman’s golf cart disregarded a stop sign. It then collided with a southbound pickup truck, towing a trailer, on SW 79 Terrace Road.

Following the impact, the woman was thrown from the golf cart.

The trailing pickup’s trailer subsequently hit her. Despite being rushed to the hospital, she later died from her injuries.

The investigation is still ongoing.
