Marion County, FL (November 20, 2023) – A 38-year-old driver suffered serious injuries in a hit-and-run crash in Marion County on Saturday morning, November 18, just before 9 a.m. The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reported that the incident involved a Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Corvette racing on SR 200.
During the reckless race, the Corvette collided with a third vehicle near SW 80 Street, veered off the road, and hit a utility pole and a tree. The impact ejected the Corvette’s driver. Meanwhile, the two passengers in the third vehicle were unharmed.
The Mustang driver, who briefly checked on the injured before fleeing, is sought by FHP. He’s described as a heavy-set, bald white male with arm tattoos and a beard. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
