Marion, VA – Injury Accident Reported on Shale Bank Rd near Greenwood Rd

Marion, VA (July 20, 2023) – A motor vehicle accident was reported in Smyth County that ended in injuries.

The crash occurred at around 11:49 a.m. on July 19.

Reports from law enforcement show that a collision between vehicles blocked Greenwood Road near the area of Shale Bank Road during the late morning hours. The incident prompted multiple law enforcement personnel to respond to the scene.

Firefighters and police shut down a portion of the roadway as medical personnel rendered aid to those harmed. The victims were transported to area hospitals for further assistance.

At this time, the incident is being investigated.
