Mason City, IA (September 19, 2023) – Early Saturday, September 16, 2023, at just past 6 a.m., a crash occurred near Highways 18 and 65 interchange.

Anthony Slocum, 38, of Charles City, drove off the roadway.

His vehicle became trapped beneath an overhead bridge.

A Cerro Gordo County deputy provided initial first aid before medics took over. 

The Mason City Fire Department Ambulance transported Slocum to MercyOne-North, Iowa.

His injuries were not life-threatening.

The Iowa State Patrol also assisted at the scene. 

The investigation is still ongoing.
