Memphis, TN – Fatal Hit-and-Run at Cooper Street and Central Avenue Intersection Claims One Life

Memphis, TN ( July 26, 2023) – In a tragic hit-and-run incident in Midtown, Memphis, a person lost their life after a collision at Cooper Street and Central Avenue intersection.

The Memphis Police Department responded to the call at 1:25 a.m. on Tuesday, July 25th, 2023.

According to police reports, the driver of a Dodge Charger disregarded a red light at Central Avenue and collided with the driver's side of a Chevrolet Sonic.

The impact proved fatal for the Chevrolet Sonic driver, who did not survive the crash.

The suspect responsible for the collision abandoned their vehicle and fled the scene on foot, leaving the victim without assistance.

The police are conducting a preliminary investigation into the crash, seeking leads and evidence to identify and apprehend the hit-and-run driver.
