Mercer, PA – Three-Vehicle Crash on I-80 Claims Life of 80-Year-Old Man

Mercer, PA (July 19, 2023) – On Monday, July 17, tragedy struck Interstate 80 when an 80-year-old man, John J. Lesher, died in a three-vehicle collision.

The accident occurred in Pine Township, approximately 3 miles east of the Interstate 79 interchange.

John Lesher was the front passenger in a Jeep SUV driven by Laura E. Lesher.

Shayne S. Stanford, driving a Ram 3500 truck with an enclosed trailer, rear-ended the Jeep, pushing it into the back of a tractor-trailer driven by Karandeep Singh.

The Jeep overturned, causing significant damage and injuries to Laura and two child passengers.

The investigation is ongoing, and no charges have been filed.
