Meridian, MS – Motorcyclist Killed in Police Chase Crash on Hwy 39

Meridian, MS (November 20, 2023) – In a harrowing incident early Sunday morning, November 19, a police pursuit in Meridian ended in a fatal crash. William Noah Jenkins, 21, was riding his motorcycle when a Meridian Police officer tried to stop him for reckless driving. Jenkins fled, pushing speeds near 100 mph.

The pursuit took a tragic turn when a car entered the highway, leading to Jenkins crashing into its back. Lauderdale County Coroner Clayton Cobler confirmed Jenkins was pronounced dead at the scene.

The event follows Jenkins evading a Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Deputy on Friday night. Investigations into the crash and Jenkins’ actions are ongoing.
