Pedestrian Accidents in Massachusetts
Pedestrian fatalities remain a serious concern in Massachusetts, particularly in areas with low visibility or inadequate crosswalks. Accidents like the one on Merrimack St can often be attributed to factors such as driver inattention, speeding, or poor roadway lighting.
Massachusetts law requires drivers to yield to pedestrians in crosswalks, but incidents continue to occur due to various conditions. Families of victims in fatal pedestrian crashes may have legal options to pursue wrongful death claims, which can help cover medical expenses, funeral costs, and other financial burdens.
Understanding pedestrian safety laws and promoting improved street lighting can help reduce the risk of future accidents. If you or a loved one has been affected by a pedestrian accident, seeking legal guidance can provide clarity on available options for justice and compensation.
