Montclair, VA (April 7, 2023) – Authorities confirmed that 33-year-old Dorothy Anne Fontain lost her life in a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Wednesday evening. A 5-year-old girl has also died.
At around 6:35 p.m. on April 5, emergency crews were dispatched to provide assistance on-site at a crash on Route 234.
Reports show that a 2007 Chrysler 300 and a 2013 Chevrolet Suburban collided on Route 234 in the area near Fortuna Center Plaza. The impact of the crash sent the Chrysler off the roadway and up onto a sidewalk. The Suburban came to rest in the middle of the road while facing southbound.
Fontain, who was a passenger in the Chrysler, sustained serious injuries. She was transported to an area hospital, where she later passed away.
A 5-year-old girl, who was a passenger in the Chrysler, was also severely injured. She was rushed to an area hospital, where she passed away on April 6.
The Chrysler driver, a 33-year-old man, and the driver of the Suburban, a 46-year-old woman, were both transported to area hospitals for emergency care.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
