Montgomery Village, MD (April 10, 2023) – A major fire incident occurred in Montgomery Village, Maryland, leaving several people injured.
At around 1:00 a.m. on April 9, firefighters with the Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Services were dispatched to the scene of a fire incident that occurred at a home on Whetstone Drive.
Reports from authorities show that a fire broke out inside of a home in the 9600 block of the roadway during the early morning hours. A total of 75 firefighters responded to the scene to battle the blaze.
A total of three people in the structure suffered injuries. Two of the victims were rushed to area hospitals for emergency care. A third victim, identified only as a female, had to be resuscitated by firefighters on site. The victim was rushed to an area hospital in admitted in critical condition. One firefighter was also transported to an area hospital for treatment.
The fire caused over $750,000 in damages while taking the lives of three of the family’s dogs.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
