Mount Olive, NJ (May 13, 2025) – A 13-year-old boy was airlifted to Morristown Medical Center after being struck by a vehicle in Mount Olive on the evening of Sunday, May 11. The incident occurred around 6:35 PM on Wolfe Road when the juvenile cyclist was hit by a Ford Explorer traveling north.
According to Mount Olive police, the boy was attempting to cross Cassidy Road and enter the southbound lane of Wolfe Road when he was struck by the Ford Explorer. The cyclist did not yield to the vehicle, which had the right of way. The collision resulted in the boy suffering serious injuries, including trauma to his head and upper body. The severity of his injuries required him to be airlifted by HMH medevac to Morristown Medical Center.
Authorities noted that the cyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The crash remains under investigation, and authorities are working to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
