Hit-and-Runs in Florida
If one does not render aid after being involved in a pedestrian accident, they not only are refusing to take responsibility for the crash, but they also put the pedestrian’s life at risk. A driver is required by law to remain at the scene of any Florida traffic accident until law enforcement arrives.
According to statistics, about 11 percent of drivers choose to leave the scene of the accident, and thus break the law and possibly endanger lives. Many of these suspects make this choice because they are already committing another crime while driving, such as being intoxicated or driving without a license or insurance.
