National City, CA – Collision on Northbound 805 Freeway; Woman Seriously Injured

National City, CA (July 28 , 2023) – In the early hours of Thursday, July 27, 2023, a serious traffic collision occurred in National City, leaving one person hospitalized with severe injuries.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the accident happened around 1:25 a.m. on the northbound 805 Freeway near the Sweetwater Road off-ramp.

A Mercedes sedan had stalled in the traffic lanes, and a female individual was standing outside the vehicle when a black Chevrolet Cruze collided with the sedan and the woman.

The victim sustained major injuries in the crash and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

No further details have been released, but CHP is actively investigating the incident.
