Las Vegas, NV (February 24, 2020) – The woman killed in a pedestrian accident in Las Vegas on Saturday afternoon, February 22nd, has been identified by local authorities. Lisa Mokhpari, 21, of Paris was walking in downtown Las Vegas when she was struck by a cab that ran a red light. The accident occurred at the intersection of Charleston Boulevard and Grand Central Parkway before 5 p.m.
Mokhpari was struck by the cab, which then hit a truck that was parked near the intersection. She was transported to University Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor and charges are pending.
Local authorities are conducting an investigation into the cause of the accident.
