Neosho, MO (January 18, 2025) – A serious two-vehicle collision occurred late Friday morning at the intersection of US 60 and Hwy HH, half a mile east of Neosho. Emergency responders from Newton County Fire and Rescue were quick to the scene, providing care to the injured victims.
The accident happened at approximately 11:52 AM when a 2009 Chevrolet Impala, driven by a 65-year-old man from Granby, collided with a 2018 Toyota Corolla driven by an 85-year-old woman from Carthage. According to initial reports, the Chevrolet Impala failed to yield while turning onto US 60, striking the Toyota Corolla.
Both drivers sustained serious injuries in the crash. The driver of the Chevrolet Impala was transported by EMS to Mercy Joplin for treatment, while the driver of the Toyota Corolla was taken to Freeman West for care. Both individuals were confirmed to be wearing safety belts at the time of the collision.
Both vehicles were totaled and were towed from the scene by Metro Towing. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash to determine if additional factors contributed to the incident. Traffic in the area was temporarily impacted as crews worked to clear the scene.
