Farmington, NM (November 28, 2020) – Around 7 p.m. on Tuesday night, November 24, a man was killed in a fatal pedestrian in Farmington.
New Mexico State Police have confirmed that the crash took place in the westbound lanes of NM-64 when 48-year-old Freddie Chatto was walking on the roadway when he was suddenly struck by a vehicle.
A resident from Farmington was driving west on the highway and did not see Chatto because that area of the highway was not lit. The driver was unable to avoid the collision. The driver remained at the scene of the accident. Police have since said that intoxication may have led to the accident.
Chatto was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
