Roswell, NM (June 6, 2020) – On Thursday, two people were injured in a head-on crash involving a stolen police car in Roswell.
Police initiated a chase with the driver who stole the police car for reasons that are still under investigation. A deputy was injured when their vehicle swerved to avoid another vehicle during the chase, causing them to crash into a utility pole.
The stolen vehicle then crashed head-on into a pickup truck at an unidentified area of Roswell. The driver of the pickup truck, whose name has not yet been released, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The deputy involved in the accident was also taken to the hospital with moderate head injuries.
New Mexico State Police continue their investigation into the accident at this time.
