Buffalo, NY – Eight-Year-Old Struck & Killed on Congress St

Buffalo, NY (August 4, 2020) – An eight-year-old child was reported to have been struck and killed by a motor vehicle while walking along a street in the city of Buffalo, according to authorities. The fatal incident was reported at around 8:50 p.m. on Monday night, August 3rd.

Officers with the Buffalo Police Department said that the child was walking alongside Congress Street when a vehicle struck him. Emergency crews arrived at the scene and the child was pronounced deceased. Authorities did not specify whether or not the victim died at the scene or was transported to a hospital.

The driver involved remained at the crash site to cooperate with authorities. There has been no word on any charges at this time.

Officials with the BPD are investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident. No further information has been reported.
