Buffalo, NY – Officers Injured During Pursuit on Sobieski St

Buffalo, NY (October 25, 2020) – Two police officers from Buffalo have been hospitalized with accident-related injuries after their squad cars collided while they were in pursuit of another vehicle on Sunday, October 25th.

The accident took place at about 4:00 a.m. when the officers responded to a call reporting shots fired in the 100 block of Sobieski Street.  

In relation to the call, officers began to pursue a Toyota Venza that was seen leaving the scene, heading northbound along Grey Street in the direction of Genesee Street when the vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a concrete pole and then a large tree.

The three occupants of the vehicle, a 29-year-old male driver, a 26-year-old male passenger, and a 21-year-old female passenger, were all from Buffalo. All three were transported by ambulance to Erie County Medical Center for emergency medical treatment.

Both of the officers were transported to Erie County Medical Center for treatment of injuries that were classified as non-life-threatening.
