Coney Island, NY (July 13, 2020) – Two police officers were injured early on Monday morning, July 13th, following a collision on the Belt Parkway. The incident was reported to authorities at around 5:00 a.m. in Coney Island.
According to authorities, the officers were in a cruiser when it collided with another vehicle in the westbound lanes of the Belt Parkway near Shell Road. Emergency responders arrived at the scene where both officers were transported to a nearby hospital with back and neck injuries.
The victims have only been identified as two officers with the 60th Precinct. No further information was reported.
The cause of this accident remains under investigation.
