East Elmhurst, NY (December 21, 2020) – A total of 13 people were hospitalized after a carbon monoxide incident that was reported on Monday morning, December 21st. It happened around 6:15 a.m. inside of a structure located on 32nd Avenue in the East Elmhurst neighborhood of Queens.

According to authorities, first responders shut down a boiler inside the building and carbon monoxide levels went down immediately. Paramedics transported 13 people to local hospitals and treated one more at the scene.

At this time, all injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening. Police investigators are working to determine the cause of this incident.
