Hudson, NY (July 11, 2020) – Around 8:25 a.m. yesterday morning, July 10, a pedestrian crash took place in a construction zone in Hudson.
The accident, according to authorities, took place on Harry Howard Avenue around the area of Michael Court. A 22-year-old flagger employed with A. Colarusso & Son was injured after being struck by a passenger vehicle.
In the early morning, a 51-year-old Palenville woman was headed northeast where a construction project was happening when she drove through the zone despite the flagger holding a stop sign. The flagger noticed that the driver was not stopping and jumped back to avoid the vehicle. However, the vehicle slammed into the stop sign, hitting the flagger.
The 22-year-old worker was taken to the hospital with abdominal injuries but is expected to make a recovery.
Police said that the woman was not charged but their investigation continues.
Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family in hopes of a full recovery.
