Jamaica, Queens, NY (November 6, 2019) – Authorities are searching for a suspect who stole a vehicle and then abandoned it while it was still moving, which then struck and killed a woman in Queens. The fatal incident occurred at the intersection of Archer Avenue and Sutphin Boulevard in the Jamaica section of the city at around 9:15 p.m. on Tuesday night, November 5th.
According to authorities, officers tried to stop a stolen Hyundai Sonata but the driver fled. During the pursuit, the suspect exited the vehicle which had not completely stopped. The driverless Hyundai rolled into the intersection and struck a woman in the crosswalk.
Medical crews rushed the victim to a nearby hospital where she tragically succumbed to her injuries. Police are searching for the suspect as part of their investigation into this incident.
